Judy Kay Gannon

Judy Kay Gannon of Rolla, Missouri, formerly of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at the age of 68. Judy was born in Fulton, Kentucky on July 8, 1951 to the late Jesse and Wilma (Simmons) Baker.
Judy worked and retired from the United States government as a helicopter equipment specialist. Once retired, she was a substitute teacher for the Springfield, Missouri school districts. She was very active in veteran affairs; she served as the Commander of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, volunteered at the VFW Bingo and sang at the Missouri Veteran’s Home. She was a member of both the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Springfield, Missouri and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Rolla, Missouri. She was active in the community; she sang at local nursing homes and volunteered at Birthright. She was a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Judy is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years, Bob Gannon of Rolla, Missouri; sisters, Elaine Staples of St. Louis, Missouri and Ruth Smith of Illinois.
In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by one brother, John Baker; sister, Brenda Sue Simmons Baker; nephew, Brock Staples.
Funeral Mass for Judy Gannon will be held at 4:00PM on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Rolla, Missouri with Father Meystrik officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the Mass on Monday, March 16, 2020 from 3:00PM until 4:00PM also at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Rolla, Missouri. Memorials are suggested to the St. James Veteran’s Home. Cards are available at all James and Gahr locations.
