#4433 – SECARMY Dan Driscoll Resigns Over Fight With Hegseth—Harder to Know Who and What to Trust Right Now

Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll announced yesterday that he will step down by year’s end over irreconcilable tensions with War Secretary Pete Hegseth, Real Raw News has learned.

On Friday, White Hat sources told RRN that Driscoll and Hegseth have had intense arguments about the Iran War and Hegseth reassigning to the Middle East Special Forces soldiers who had been tasked with domestic Deep State takedowns.

Driscoll has served as the civilian Secretary of the Army since his Senate confirmation in February 2025. Born in Boone, North Carolina, Driscoll attended Officer Candidate School in 2006 and graduated in 2007, serving as a lieutenant in armor and as a cavalry scout platoon leader. He earned his Ranger Tab at US Army Ranger School and, in 2009, spent nine months in Iraq, where he saw combat and earned the Combat Action Badge and the US Army Commendation Medal. However, for reasons he hasn’t shared publicly, Driscoll resigned his commission in early 2011 and returned to civilian life. He later became a venture capitalist and served on the board of a medical staffing agency. Driscoll served as chief operating officer of Flex Capital Management LLC from October 2021 to March 2023. His political aspirations started in 2020, when he ran for the Republican nomination to represent North Carolina’s 11th congressional district. In December 2024, J.D. Vance and tech mogul Peter Thiel urged Trump to nominate Driscoll as secretary of the army.

To be frank, RRN initially disapproved of Driscoll’s appointment; it seemed odd that a man who had served only 3.5 years of active duty would ascend to a coveted position that more than 145 career officers had also sought. Despite our reservations, White Hat sources, including members of the White Hat Council, told us to “trust Driscoll.”

As RRN hasn’t spoken with Driscoll directly, we can report only what sources have told us.

“Dan Driscoll’s against the Iran stuff,” a source in General Eric M. Smith’s office told us. “He was from the get-go, but he got shot down. He and Pete [Hegseth]—they locked horns almost every day since late February. I’m not saying who’s right or wrong, but we knew shit was coming to a boiling point. And that pressure cooker blew its lid two weeks ago when Hegseth ordered 3rd Special Forces Group—600 of them and support staff—to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. A lot of the operators were covertly surveilling suspected Deep State criminals here at home.”

Per our source, Driscoll shared with Hegseth progress Special Forces had made toward apprehending Deep Staters such as treasonous Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, suspected pedophile and Democratic activist Steven Spielberg, and alleged child molester actor Jim Carrey.

“Hegseth told Dan [Driscoll] that stopping Iran from having an atomic bomb was more important,” our source said. “And, so, a bunch of our ongoing operations are now suspended until this Iran shit resolves, whenever, if ever, that’ll be.”

Driscoll is the second secretary to have abdicated his position this year. In May 2026, Secretary of the Navy John Phelan was fired—and later charged with treason, sent to GITMO, and hanged to death.
